How I Made Colouring Pages of My Book Cover

I thought it would be fun to make my book cover into a colouring page, but having no idea how to use Photoshop, I started playing with other ways to do it.

Here’s my book cover — what I was starting with:

First, I ran my book cover image through a free (and completely addicting) app called Dreamscope:

And then I found another free program called Rapid Resizer that has a Free Picture Stencil Maker and ran the Dreamscope image through that and this is what I came out with:

It’s not too bad. I did make several different versions, as well as made some other colouring pages related to my book, which you can see or download from my blog here.

The reason I ran my original image through Dreamscope was because Antigone’s hair on the original cover created a big white spot in the middle of the colouring page. If you have a more detailed image, you may not need this step. But Dreamscope is fun anyway, to make the image a little bit different, if you want.

So, that’s how I did it. Feel free to download the colouring sheet. I would also love to see any finished coloured-in sheets, or even your own experiments with making your own sheets.
